In collaboration withphysician medical directors, LifeWiseclinical pharmacists will be reviewing medical necessity for drugs requestedthrough the medical benefit starting January 1, 2022. Medical director callswill continue to be done by physician medical directors.
Medical benefit drugs are injected or infused by a healthcareprofessional in an out-patient clinic or infusion centers. Pharmacy benefitdrugs are self-administered medications that are managed at home.
