Our 2024 individual and family plans and rates have been filed with the Office of the Insurance Commissioner (OIC). Here’s a summary of what you can expect for next year.
Counties
LifeWise Health Plan of Washington is exiting Yakima county in 2024—no Essential, Cascade, or Cascade Select plans will be available. The Washington Health Benefit Exchange (WAHBE) will inform your Yakima clients of the carrier and plan they’re mapping to, and you can help ensure they get the plan that’s right for their needs.
In total, LifeWise will be sold in 35 counties next year:
- Essential plans - 34 counties
- Cascade plans - 19 counties
- Cascade Select plans - 19 counties
Plans
All Essential, Cascade, and Cascade Select plans will be renewed next year. We’re also renewing all LifeWise grandfathered plans. LifeWise won’t discontinue any products or introduce any new products in 2024.
Rates
We’ve filed for an average 7.81% rate increase for LifeWise Essential, Cascade, and Cascade Select plans. The increase reflects rising healthcare costs and higher than expected member utilization of healthcare services. For LifeWise grandfathered plans, we’ve filed a 5.6% decrease.
Rates aren’t final until approved by the OIC in early September.
Network
Exciting news for our Cascade Select plans: MultiCare has agreed to participate in our LifeWise Alpine network in 2024. The Alpine network will continue to include Confluence, Kinwell, PeaceHealth, and more. Our LifeWise Essential and Cascade plans will be on the same LifeWise Primary network with more than 30,000 providers, including Kinwell, Providence, Swedish, and CHI Franciscan.
Commission
We’ll continue the same 3-tier compensation structure in 2024. But we’re increasing the tier 1 commission to $20 per member per month (PMPM).
As a reminder, only individual members count toward the tiers. As shown in the table below, you have unlimited earning potential for the top tier.
