Premera has updated its preventive care benefits. These changes are in response to new federal recommendations from the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF), Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), and Bright Futures/American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
The following areas have benefit changes that are effective June 1, 2021, for all members with non-grandfathered health plans.
Screenings
- Unhealthy drug use
- Lung cancer
Vaccines
- Ebola
- Meningococcal
- Hepatitis A
- DTaP-IPV-Hib-HepB
- DTaP/Tdap/Td vaccine

To make sure your clients are knowledgeable about and using their preventive benefits, we recommend you take the following actions:
- Share the updated preventive services list with your clients.
- Remind your clients that preventive benefits are paid in full when in-network providers are used.
- Let your group clients know that they can find ready-to-share resources about preventive services in B’link.
